The Bolinas Museum features five galleries.

Main gallery: Six exhibitions a year present a diverse selection of contemporary art, interspersed with art of past decades, history or natural history exhibitions and the annual Bolinas Museum Art Auction exhibition and holiday Mini Show.

Photography gallery: Dynamic exhibitions of fine photography from local and nationally known photographers. 

The Coastal Marin Artists gallery: Monthly exhibitions from the rich talent pool of artists living and working in Coastal Marin communities.

Permanent Collection gallery: Selections of fine art from the 1800s to contemporary work inspires visitors to return time and again to savor these paintings and sculptures.

History Room: Exhibits trace the story of Bolinas and its inhabitants;including natural history, the Native American Coast Miwok, the Spanish, then the lumbering, ship building, dairies and ranches that sprang up to provide supplies for burgeoning San Francisco during the Gold Rush.  Eventually a summer colony developed that evolved into the community of Bolinas.

Courtyard: Water and light playing over a stone fountain and bird songs set the tone for the courtyard where one may just enjoy the ambience or attend various events.

The Museum also presents movies, lectures, workshops and other special events.
